Midi Gateway

My first Google Code Project is a fact.

I wrote a framework in Java that maps midi notes to actions. I wrote it because I wanted to control BPM Studio, using a MIDI controller. A fun little project that does exactly what I wanted it to.

Congratulations.
BTW: You might want to put version numbers in the downloadable files because you can not rename/delete files.

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep it in mind for the next release. I was thinking about sprints of maximum 6 weeks ;-)

Thanx for this fine little tool. it could save the money for the expensiv orgigimal hadware.
But pease, could you ad the very important funktions:
Tempo-Pitch and sync-Tempo/reset
or could you tell me, if i can do it myself?
Kind regards :-)

Hi DichterMann,

It's been a while and I kind of forgot about this project. Great to hear that it can be of use to you. I invested some time and implemented this feature.

The speed (tempo or pitch, depending on how BPM studio is configured) can now be set with a dial or a slider. The range also depends on BPM's configuration.

I also took the opportunity to add 2 other features:
- The alternative operation mode of CUP: It will start playing from the CUE point, but only for as long as you hold the button.
- Each action has a test-button (or slider). This way you can try each action, without having to map it to a control.

I hope it can be of any use to you.

Hi Tars,
great to hear you're still in programming action :-)
Thanx you very much for the modifikation.
Yes, the alt cup is also very usefull. and the test button is comfortable.
Would be nice to have a alt-cup for the sampler, too.

And one very important missing control-funktion is the Phones Monitor button A/B on/off.
Maybe that could be enough for a simple controlling of BPMStudio.
I will go and try that with a cheap DJ-MidiController ...

And i will search for a Virtual-Midi-Equilizer tool, 2xStereo, to route it after the Player-output.
Maybe i find something.
I found You, too ;-)

Kind regards,
D.Man
